Zack Furtado
Bar Director
Born and raised in Fremont, California, Zack had his first taste of the beverage industry in Phoenix, Arizona. During his time as a bartender at SumoMaya, he worked under Bill DeGroot, a mentor who helped hone his passion for the beverage industry into a career. In 2019, Zack was part of the opening team of the award-winning bar Century Grand as a Whiskey Specialist where he became an expert in single barrel whiskies.
In 2021, Zack moved to New York City and became a bartender at the famed Carbone restaurant and ZZ’s Clam Bar. From there, he joined the Golden Swan team as beverage director in 2023. In May of 2024, Zack moved to Manhatta as bar director where he oversees menu development, inventory, and budgeting. In his role, he aims to foster a culture that encourages sharing, learning, and growth.
In his free time, Zack enjoys watching baseball and exploring new restaurants around Brooklyn and Manhattan.
