Pamela Walton
Wine Director
Pamela Walton is the Beverage Director at Manhatta where she oversees the restaurant’s awardwinning bar and wine program, spanning over 2,500 labels.
Originally from Western Massachusetts, Pamela graduated from Smith College and started her hospitality career in Boston, working as a server at the beloved Hamersley’s Bistro in the South End. In 1995, Pamela relocated to New York City and began working as a server at Union Square Cafe. After attending film school, Pamela returned to Union Square Hospitality Group, working as a bartender, and later manager, at Gramercy Tavern, where she had the opportunity to learn from celebrated Sommelier Paul Grieco. From there, she moved to Blue Hill in Greenwich Village, where she served as both general manager and wine buyer for the restaurant. In 2007, Pamela transitioned into a full-time wine wholesale role working for a variety of notable importers including Polaner, T. Edward, and Avant-Garde over the course of the next decade. Most recently, she returned to the restaurant scene as general manager at Market Table, before rejoining the Union Square Hospitality Group team at Manhatta.
With a deep wine knowledge and vast restaurant experience, Pamela is passionate about celebrating accessibility and lesser-known wine regions, alongside Manhatta’s impressive collection of California and Burgundy vintages.
